Steffi Ostrowski is an associate at Gupta Wessler, where she works with clients in high-stakes public interest and plaintiffs’-side appellate cases. She rejoins the firm after previously serving as a fellow in 2023–24 and a summer associate in 2020, and after clerking at the U.S. Supreme Court for Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson and retired Justice Stephen Breyer. She also clerked for Judge Michelle Friedland of the Ninth Circuit and Judge Vince Chhabria of the Northern District of California, and previously worked at the New Economy Project in New York and the Consumer Financial Protection Unit of the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office.
While at Yale Law School, Steffi served as an editor of the Yale Law Journal, co-president of the Law and Political Economy Student Group, and a student in the Mortgage Foreclosure Clinic. Before law school, she worked at the New Mexico Immigrant Law Center and as a software engineer at Facebook, where she worked on projects promoting women’s safety and built software to detect impersonation.
